Blackout Privacy Policy
Effective August 3, 2026
Blackout works entirely on your Mac. The app does not collect, transmit, sell, or share personal information. It has no accounts, analytics, advertising, telemetry, or cloud service.
Local data
Blackout stores a few settings locally, such as whether to show its Touch Bar, menu bar, or Dock controls and whether to include the keyboard backlight.
The app interacts with the Touch Bar and may read and adjust keyboard backlight brightness to restore it afterward. If you enable launch at login, macOS manages that setting. None of this information is sent anywhere.
Website and support
The Blackout pages do not use analytics or tracking scripts. This site, the demo image, downloads, and project repository are hosted by GitHub, which may process basic request information under its Privacy Statement.
If you open an issue or send an email, any information you provide is used only to respond or maintain Blackout.
